These are 24/96 recorded files. The LP (2 copies) had quite some matrix noise - but applying minimal 'de-click' was ruinous - and the original 1954 LP would require even more tinkering... so the occasional (hopefully) minor tick, etc, will be evident...This is a 'request' from some time back and should be better than that on another blog - which apparently sounded rubbish !   The performances are very nice.. (a few edits are audible).  Sleeve-note >>>

Don't have Bakala: SUA 10053 (Fiddler/Blanik/Suite) and LPV 475 (Bakala: Hradcany/Wolf-Tracks...c/w: Kuhn: Nocturnes) sounds rather dire.
The above performances are simply wonderful.  Difficult to imagine a finer recorded performance of the Mass, and the Dances have great rhythmic vitality (compared to Decca: Huybrechts/LPO that I bought in 1971).
The sound-quality is better than 'rather good' (and perhaps superior to the Supraphon CD of the Sinfonietta/Mass?? - judging by a comment below - Janacek post..) - and have resisted the temptation to slightly de-click the ancient (but 'mint/flawless') Supraphon.  Sleeve-notes / 1955 Record Guide review >>>

An 'HISTORICAL' Request... Had intended including SBR 6225 (Str.Ser./Cockaigne) but the former may not be suitable to transfer due to some surface noise (the performance is pretty bad - hardly justifies inclusion instead of, eg, the 'Not on CD' Collins/NSO or Collingwood/LSO).
Much of this 'Enigma' isn't to my taste - the Faure-like languorous drawl is quite enervating. Presumably EMI used a stereo tape for the CD issue of the 'Gipsy Suite'.

Even The Record Guide, 1955, commented upon some noisy surfaces; so the manual editing has been extremely tedious.
Very slight de-click applied to the zip FLAC due to some residual (now very minor) low-level 'surface-noise'.            Sleeve-note >>>
