  1. Hello Andrew,
May remove the 24/96's - as would 'like' to upload the 4LP Chaliapin box to HISTORICAL...as these aren't the best-sounding Decca LP's...also I tend to 'go off' his playing-style.

Campoli's Bliss VC is on the main blog - the Mendelssohn VC c/w Rossi's 'Italian' was a very popular ACL - one of the transfers there may be better than on the LXT's I also have - but this LXT Bruch sounded much better than the '2Dr' used on ACL 64 - Decca had problems with this title - this may be the best transfer around (though probably didn't need to use 'de-click'...(same settings as before)...as don't think it's 'on CD' ??..so this grouping makes a CD's worth..

  2. You're a little bit demanding, aren't you?! ;) Well yes, maybe there are better quality recordings, but in itself, for what it is, there's very little to complain about the sound here. Really like the Campoli/Bliss VC, and similarly these - Lalo's piece is especially fine to my ears. Many thanks, as always!

    1. Probably because I used some very minimal 'De-Click' throughout - and it slightly 'smoothed' his tone - which was already a bit 'dense' (the violins fault?) - but I like the S.Saens - and the Bruch had been 'a request' (I think) way back - but that was from another pressing @ 256 mp3. (or 320 ??)....so this should be very much better.

Not sure if this is the Final upload...TBH have been playing LP's - and not those 60-odd years old!
