    1. Well - the Lalo is actually nice! (just re-listened to parts of his Khachaturian VC/Monteux ---- no improvement!)

  3. I would add that Kogan's performance of the Brahms concerto is also very fine (Philharmonia/Kondrashin). I have that on a Price-Less CD, incongruously paired with the first Bruch concerto performed by Christian Ferras, in very boxy sound.

    1. My Ferras/Brahms SXLP (no subsequent LP reissue?) Went East (as with many other Violin'n'Cello...).
Had to check Ferras Bruch/Lalo as never saw the ASD (or CFP). Was glad to dispose of the ASD Tchaik/Mendelssohn.
Previously pondered uploading his earlier Brahms with Schuricht (excellent ACL - but savagely reviewed by 'EMG') and the Oistrakh/Konwitschny 1961 Heliodor transfer also sounds rather good.
But it's Goodnight from Kogan (unless I upload the Tchaikovsky .elsewhere........
(the EMG mentioned Ricci/Lalo only have as a new original LXT (+Stereo 'Eclipse')

    1. At least the Lalo is Very Good! Sold my 2 original copies of the Tchaikovsky SAX - only retain 2x 33CX mono. At that date mono issues are mix-down's of stereo (pre-1965 'N' matrix suffix changed to 'S' to indicate that). The performance isn't to my liking -and the recording is mostly cavernous with many edits/perspective changes. Retain the 24-bit files..
