Intended Borodin 2+3 in 2011 !! (the Dvorak 9 a few years later) .. Additional re-eq DLP files due to the 1955 matrices in combination with the rather dark Kingsway Hall acoustic (Borodin side).
Delete40 years back sold a copy to Roger Hewland (Gramex) after buying it from the 'other' Gramex in Covent Garden (wasn't impressed with the sonics..) - and he'd not seen a copy before - so a rarity... (my 5-selection Nutcracker stereo EP (PES5252) must be very scarce).
The Borodin Sym.3 is especially nice.

ReplyDeleteBought the Philips Universo (LPO/Lloyd-Jones) version in 1972 - but it didn't make much of an impression (even less-so the R-K Sadko on that side) - but did a 24-bit side 1 transfer some time back of the excellent (original) Mussorgsky: Bare Mountain/Balakirev: King Lear - still a HiFi/performance favourite...
