Siempre que visito el blog encuentro gratas sorpresas, muchas gracias por este excelente archivo, saludos.
ReplyDeleteWill do the occasional transfer (this was intended Dec.2020) - and the Ireland PC was a very pleasant surprise ...the 1942 Eileen Joyce performance is @ https://musicparlourhistorical.blogspot.com/search/label/IRELAND
DeleteHorsley's performance is excellent.
thanks for this
ReplyDeleteOne, of just 2, end-50s LPs that got treated with some gunk from the Parastat machine - fouled the grooves so washed it about a dozen times..
DeleteNever played (in 25+ years) the SLS box; anyway they've appeared on CD (only otherwise have the mono ALP/Bliss PC).
the Ireland was released on EMI CD 077776471624
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't follow CD issues (other than on Discographies: the RPO doesn't seem to have one?) I already knew of that - others in the SLS box also on CD (Bliss/Rawsthorne/Britten - possibly the Williamson not?) - but, at that date, mono / stereo were differently taped (balances/microphones tape-decks) so the Ireland could still be 'of interest'.
DeleteNot much else would've been a suitable coupling to the not on CD RPO/Stravinsky - though have toyed with the Tausky/RPO French material - only on EP + the SXLP30117 + some RPO/Fistoulari on SXLP30101.
Been VERY silent on the 'comments' front though - so haven't particularly recently bothered with transfers! (the CBS Classics Poulenc plays Poulenc/Satie is very nice: could compete with SOMM for a change.....
