    1. Not sure for How Long.
If you're a member of Symphonyshare there's a 2017 transfer from the same LP; forgot, otherwise might have transferred the 33CX instead; scanned this MFP cover in 2012 for an intended upload then - originally bought a copy in 1967..
The middle movements of the Tchaikovsky seem pretty wishy-washy in this performance.

    1. Well..it does take a bit of effort to disguise the 'inherent defects'. Probably why I've a decades-worth of never utilised Scans.
By this point there's not too much left unreleased onto CD (the Parlophone PMA/PMC catalogue still being an exception - but mine are mostly Karl Haas in, now, almost 70yo copies (mint) and they can sound quaint as performances, too).
So deciding what to upload is a minefield of whether the performance/inherent sonics are satisfactory - and Valuable issues I'm not prepared to wet-clean just to enable a transfer - but, theoretically, have another <7/8000 to choose from....mostly probably better than these uploads!

    1. Not sure I'd choose the Tchaikovsky (the inner movements appear becalmed) though his stereo 'Pathetique' is really fine.
Was tempted to add 'Manfred' to this one as, thus far, it only is/was on Testament.
The other side is fine - though 'Bolero' I'd probably choose the mono-only Paris/Silvestri HMV ALP...but there's some characterful playing in this version. Got my copy originally from a local Newsagent - MfP's had their carousel display @ 12/6d.

  4. Gosh. This takes me back. The MfP cost me about 2 1/2 week's pocket money many years ago! It's nice to hear it again. Many thanks for all your hard work.

    1. You should've sued - as child-allowance was around 10/6d a week.
Used to play the Waltz from HMV 78's - but that was c.1957; before the K-B 'Triphonic' made its appearance.
Of the other MfP's bought in the '60's I've the originals 'these days' (ie bought 20+ years back) - Steinberg Elgar/RVW (Capitol stereo) - RVW Sargent (HMV CLP) - Beethoven PC1/2 Solomon (HMV ASD/BLP)...so only bought a few...due to The Cost!

    2. I've just been informed that you are not the Andrew who seemingly went into hibernation 6 months back - so apologies for any confusion!
