No further uploads on this Blog. The cost of equipment/internet always rises (ie: a Decca Gold cartridge is now £847..internet +15%/yr - and new/obsolete PU/stylus's have become very rare) Relying on 'some' Contributions to offset this/my time spent (Many Hours) is inappropriate (eg: 1 Contributor from Japan - but 1M+ page views..) so any new files will be on ............................ IF YOU'VE ENJOYED ANY (OR VERY MANY) OF THESE UNMOLESTED LP TRANSFERS THEN A MODEST CONTRIBUTION WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH APPRECIATED.....

The 2008 'Eloquence' CD of 'Coq d'Or' apparently sounds 'defective' - and taken from the 1970 Decca Eclipse (ECS 543) 'Electronic Stereo' copy tape.

  1. I'll check - as saw a '99%' reading - which should've been 100% for zipped FLAC's..,,but as I get very few comments.......

The above isn't the best 'demonstration' for 24/96 (even amongst Ansermet/SRO - early recordings) but as Foobar only seems to go to 22kHz I don't exactly know what sort of extension they will provide (in terms of harmonics) - and these matrices weren't ideally free of small 'blips'.

Haven't checked the downloads (the RVW 9/Sargent got quite a lot) but I've a 400MB limit on uploads - and so not sure 24/96 can be used for mucho stereo - though overtures are OK (may do 'Overtures in HiFi' - Paris/Wolff - one of the first SXL Decca's)..

    1. Oh - i had completely missed that RVW upgrade, nice! And i see you have an exchange there with mr. P* also...

And i'll have to figure a way to properly listen to these played thru the computer SC on big speakers. Many thanks for this problem ;)

    2. Sorry - i didn't mean converted to FLAC (should have been clearer) but conversion of the bitrate; either of the files wasn't fully converted to 16/44 - it was either 16/96 or 24/44, or something like that.

    3. Just checked it and the culprit was 'Coq d'Or' - it's 16/96. Since no comments, maybe no one cares or even listens, but it might cause problems to someone who does.
