  1. Lovely work with the transfer, hearty thanks! Marvellous playing!
Do you have a L'Oiseau Lyre LP OLS 144 with Arnold Goldsbrough playing harpsichord, Handel and Purcell? That might be worth transferring. If you can eliminate the electronic stereo, that would be even better!

    1. I don't think that OLS series sold too well - as only have a small number.
Did recently acquire a '99pee Oxfam' Thurston Dart/Purcell: Argo RG82 (Harpsichord/Clavichord) but only the first LP (the second includes a 'missing' suite that could've been on the first dsc - the second is otherwise 'oddments').
EMG Monthly Letter never liked the Water Music - calling the playing 'routine' - but there does seem less 'grace' in the playing in the later numbers - so possibly there was an element of haste in the single days session/s ??
I did originally transfer this some 3 years back - but it was uploaded as a low data mp3 - the Britten was too large to upload then with a 20MB max file size (2hours via dial-up!)....despite the excellent performance - so couldn't make it available.

  2. Thanks for these 2 beautiful posts !
Do you have a copy of the Royal Fireworks under Boyd Neel?
....and do you intend to post Matinées et Soirées under Cree? Would be fantastic !!

    1. I don't think Boyd Neel recorded that! (?? - for Decca Beinum/COA did - with the LPO Water Music suite: something I may re-upload - initially did that a few years back) - but he did the Handel Conc. Grossi op.3 - I uploaded that some 3 years back as an mp3 from LXT 5020.

The Cree recordings I was going to couple with Collins (also 'New SO') Elgar/RVW String Music (LXT 2699 - from an excellent later recut: + have one side on an early '60's ACL c/w Collins - Delius) - but might add another LP..possibly some Collins or Boult.

  3. I believe the Boyd Neel/Britten is from ACL 229 not ACL 241.

Have you come across any of Anthony Bernard's records, including those for Record Society? Can you give us any of those, please?
